Our Story

How it began

The Ideation

Ravi Patodia was managing one of the countries largest manufacturer of incandescent bulbs back in the 90’s. He had noticed a shift in market trends wherein LEDs were imported to run production lines in India and there was a huge void in this manufacturing space in India. Being an engineer at heart, his love for production gave birth to the idea of manufacturing LEDs indigenously, even though that meant competing with countries like China, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia and Germany.

He roped in his brother Amit Patodia, from Maharashtra Light Industries who has great exposure in the lighting industry and a strong marketing network.

The Collaboration

Ravi and Amit joined hands to give birth to Lumos LEDs

Jagdamba Auto Components Ltd (JAL) is a manufacturer of auto components since the last 2 decades and caters to OEM's globally. An IATF certified company, bringing in technical know-how and an in-depth understanding of system requirements of the automotive industry.

Maharashtra Light Industries (MLI) established in 1964, a part of the Patodia Group. MLI produces incandescent lamps and halogen lamps. A vast marketing network with national coverage and a strong brand value is what MLI brings to the table!

Growth

To this day

Today Lumos LEDs is one of the first movers in the industry and the first LED chip manufacturing plant approved for automotive grade LEDs. It has grown into a large manufacturer of LED chips catering to the Indian automotive and general lighting industry.

As an effort to forward integrate, Lumos LEDs now manufactures miniature LED bulbs, indicator assemblies, cabin lights, stop and tail light assemblies, but all with LED’s which replace the conventional incandescent bulb and reduce power consumption.

Lumos is equipped with state of the art machinery. We have an installed capacity to produce 1 million LEDs per day.
